We have never bred extensively, usually only when we have required something to follow on in the show ring or when circumstances have required that we should breed from a bitch to ensure continuing the line. Our maxim has always been quality rather than quantity, breeding simply to produce stock to sell, either as pet or for show, has not been our way - the future welfare of the stock we have produced has always been our paramount consideration. |
Our decision to retire from breeding and showing has been taken for a number of reasons, not least of which is the growing disenchantment we have felt with the show scene here in the UK over the last few years. It is our hope for the future that the breed will see a return to those days when, in the show ring, an exhibit is judged more on its soundness and adherence to breed type than on its ownership or breeding. Below we pay tribute to some of those papillons that have over the years graced our lives. Some have achieved success here in the UK others have achieved success overseas. We congratulate those folk with Nouveau Papillons on their successes and are pleased that our bloodlines have contributed to the success of some well known kennels overseas. Mondelise in Australia, who over the years have imported a number of Nouveau's including the hugely successful Aus Ch Nouveau Ringleader. More recently they have imported Aus Ch Nouveau My Delight and Aus Ch Powdermill Touch of Magic who, although he does not carry the Nouveau prefix, is almost entirely Nouveau breeding as can be seen from the pedigree of his litter sister Powdermill Looking Good For Nouveau. Queen Bless in Japan have also imported several Nouveau's including Ch Nouveau Lord of the Dance, grandsire of BISS AmCh Queen Bless Success Story and BISS AmCh Queen Bless Royal Silk JP, and Jap Ch Nouveau Lord of Misrule sire of 2007 PCA Specialty BISS AmCH Queen Bless JP Principal Kid. La Rocca's in Sweden whose Nouveau Scarlet Pimpernel and Nouveau Chevrolet have proven very successful sires. And of course our good friend Marichin in the USA whose Marichin papillons will we are sure have much success in the years to come and who has proven such a good friend.
